Medical Program Fees & FAQ
We are New Hampshire's most comprehensive non-surgical medical weight management program, offering customized nutrition and lifestyle plans, with the option of medication for selected patients. Our doctors, nurse practitioner, nutritionists, and medical assistants work together as your support team.
What are the fees and details of the first visit?
-
The first visit is the "big one". Our program uses the latest science in order to customize a program and plan of action that fits your unique circumstances, to help you achieve your best results. We are the opposite of a "one-size-fits-all" program – we are going to get to know your individual needs, preferences, lifestyle, challenges, and then we are going to fit the science to meet your life. Research shows that when you start off on the correct track, you are more likely to lose weight and keep it off for the long term.
-
In order to create the best plan for you, we need to get to know you. This means that our first visit is a comprehensive one, and you are going to meet with members of our entire team. This will be the longest visit, in order to set the groundwork for your future success. Expect to spend about 2 to 3 hours with us as we get to know you and create a plan for you.
-
During your first visit, you will meet privately with both a medical practitioner and the nutritionist. The physician or nurse practitioner will perform a comprehensive bariatric medical evaluation to identify and address medical issues related to your weight. She will review your medical history, medications, and investigate medical, as well as bio-psycho-social factors that may affect your weight.
-
You will have a complete Body Composition Analysis and metabolic rate calculation. We measure weight, BMI and body fat percentage. From this detailed information, we calculate your Resting Energy Expenditure, an indicator of how many calories you need per day. This information allows us to give you individualized, precise advice on nutrition and activity level.
-
In addition, to complete medical evaluation, our nutritionists/health coaches will review your weight history, and fully evaluate your unique circumstances, current eating pattern, lifestyle factors, food preferences, and emotional and social factors affecting your weight.
-
Our program will provide techniques for dealing with challenges such as emotional eating, planning ahead, eating out, cravings, breaking through plateaus, and staying on track long term.
-
We will teach you eating and lifestyle strategies, and provide practical, real-life dietary advice.
-
After reviewing your history and completing your physical, the doctor will address any special conditions or concerns, answer any questions you have, and work with you to determine whether you may be a candidate for medication to assist with your weight management.
-
The doctor will also address any medications or medical problems which may be contributing to weight gain.
-
You will receive a detailed lifestyle plan, with specific recommendations for diet, exercise, behavioral modification, and medical issues related to your weight.
-
You will also receive extensive educational support materials, including a written lifestyle prescription, the Healthy Weight Center program book, the Calorie King calorie guide book, and you have the option of an online journal review by our nutritionist, at a minimal charge. You are encouraged to call or email for extra support at any time.
-
To fully evaluate your needs, we require lab work to help us customize your plan. Basic lab work includes a CBC, CMP, TSH, Lipid Panel, and many people also may benefit from having a vitamin D level and Hemoglobin A1C test to determine whether prediabetes is present. You may bring lab results with you from your primary care provider, or we can draw them at the office at a discounted rate.
